Autumn meadow on a hillside in Kordun, looking out over wooded valleys to layers of blue hills
Kordun, Croatia · a creative retreat in the making

A studio on a quiet hill. Not built yet.

We bought a meadow above a valley of blue hills. Here we're building a music studio, a creative lounge with a terrace, and two guest pods for small, invite-only creative retreats. The first pilot retreats are planned for 2028.

The place

0.8 hectares of meadow, facing the sunset.

A hillside in Gornje Primišlje, near Slunj. Junipers, wild grass and a few big shrubs that turn red and gold in autumn. To the south-west the view opens over a valley and one blue ridge after another, and the sun takes its time going down.

What we're building

From bare meadow to studio, in public.

The images marked concept are renders of the plan, drawn onto the real land. We'll share the real thing as it goes up, from the first stake in the ground.

The studio

A separate timber studio, built to keep rain and the outside world out. The desk faces the window, the valley and the sunset.

Concept render of a creative lounge with an easel, work table and art supplies, glass doors open to the terrace and its dinner table Creative lounge 12 m² · Terrace 20 m²

Creative lounge and terrace

A space to work with your hands: paint, clay, paper. It's a lounge too, with a kitchenette and a sofa. The covered terrace takes the work outside, and the long table there is for dinner parties.

Concept render of two dark timber guest pods with glass fronts at sunset, joined by a deck 2 pods · 16 m² each

Two guest pods

Dark timber, full glass fronts facing the sunset. Bed, shower, desk. A small pergola deck between them.

The retreats

A few guests. Your own work. A lot of quiet.

Small and by invitation

Only a handful of guests at a time, chosen from the waiting list. Personal and unhurried.

Make something

Music, art, film, writing. Bring a project or start one. The studio and terrace are there to work in, together or alone.

The land around it

River swims, forest walks, Plitvice down the road. Meals together in the lounge or out on the terrace.

Your hosts

Slava is a pianist, composer, producer and audiovisual creator. Conservatory-trained in Amsterdam, around 500 concerts behind him.

Liubov (her name means love) plans and hosts: the days, the food, the people.

This isn't a course and there are no lessons. It's time and space to make your own work, in good company.
